Vintage Jumpers

Vintage jumpers have a way of making any outfit feel warmer, softer and a little more nostalgic. This collection brings together retro-inspired knitwear for women: oversized jumpers, roll neck and V-neck styles, sleeveless knits, Nordic patterns, hoodies and sweatshirts, all chosen for their cosy feel and their love of decades past.

Vintage Jumpers: Retro Knitwear for Every Day

Our vintage jumpers draw on the looks of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, from bold geometric patterns to relaxed, colourful shapes and clean minimalist knits. Whether you love a chunky wool-blend knit or a lightweight pullover, each piece adds a touch of character to the colder months without giving up comfort.

They are easy to wear, too. A vintage jumper works as well with high-waisted jeans as it does with a pleated skirt or a floaty dress, so you can build looks that feel personal and unmistakably retro.

Oversized and Chunky Knits

Generous shapes and thick stitches make oversized vintage jumpers the ultimate cosy layer. Slip one over leggings, or tuck it into a high-waisted skirt for balance.

Roll Neck, V-Neck and Crew Neck

A roll neck frames the face and keeps the chill out, a V-neck lets a collared blouse peek through, and a crew neck is the classic choice for everyday wear.

Sleeveless, Cropped and Patterned

Sleeveless and cropped jumpers are made for layering over a blouse, while fair isle, Nordic, striped and floral designs bring a playful retro touch.

Hoodies, Sweatshirts and Christmas Jumpers

For a more relaxed look, browse our vintage hoodies and sweatshirts, or choose a retro Christmas jumper for the festive season.

How to Wear Vintage Jumpers

With a skirt: pair a fitted or cropped jumper with a midi skirt or a pleated skirt for a feminine, polished look. Explore our vintage skirts to complete the outfit.

With trousers or jeans: an oversized jumper over straight-leg jeans is effortless, and a pair of retro boots finishes it nicely. See our vintage shoes.

With a dress: layer a sleeveless or cropped jumper over a dress from our 1950s dresses, 1960s dresses or 1970s dresses for extra warmth and a lovely contrast of textures.

With a bag: a vintage-style bag from our vintage bags collection ties everything together.

Vintage Jumpers: Quick FAQ

Are vintage jumpers comfortable?

Yes. Knitwear is naturally soft and warm, and many of our jumpers have relaxed shapes. Each product page lists the material, so you can choose the feel you prefer.

What is the difference between a jumper and a sweater?

In British English a jumper and a sweater mean much the same thing: a knitted top that you pull on over your head. A sweatshirt is usually made of a softer, brushed fabric and has a more casual feel.

How do I style a vintage jumper?

Keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the jumper lead. Think high-waisted bottoms, a collared blouse underneath, and one retro accessory such as a silk scarf or a pair of pearl earrings.
